Meet Edison and Roz: Coding Robots and Literacy Make a Great Pair!
Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at CATALYST Arts & Maker Space at the Tucson Mall
8:00 am - 3:30 pm
K-12th Grade Educators (MUST be a traditional classroom teacher to receive free robot, teacher are allowed to repeat but have to bring their own robot)

Meet two of our favorite robots, Edison from www.meetedison.com and Roz from Peter Brown's book The Wild Robot! Edison is a little robot, with lots of potential. From pre-programmed barcodes to drag and drop graphical programming, Scratch, and even the ability to use Python (a real line code programming language), there are lots of EdVentures this starter robot can take your students on. You can even program Edison to be controlled using a television remote! Roz is wild and finding her way in the world! Use challenges inspired by Roz's adventures on an island to inspire your students to seek solutions. We are certain you will fall in love with these small but powerful robots. Each participant will get an Edison robot along with the book The Wild Robot by Peter Brown and accessories to go along with their new robot including LEGO compatible building bricks! Kit valued at nearly $100.

FREE Robot Roundup
Saturday, February 29, 2020
at SAACA Catalyst Arts & Creative Space (inside the Tucson Mall)
8:00 am to noon

Got robots or none? Any teachers using robots already in PreK-12th grade classrooms or interested in using robots to teach coding and engineering, should join our Robot Generals, Sherrie Dennis and Michael Griffith, for a Saturday morning filled with sharing, collaborating, and learning together. All robot platforms are welcome: Edison, Ozobot, Cubetto, Sphero, Botley, Robot Mouse, Lego Mindstorm, Vex - you name it! Bring your bots and/or bring your brain! The goal of STEMAZing Robot Roundups is to let educators using robots share, inspire, and learn from each other and to let educators considering robots weight the pros and cons of different robot options. Join the STEMAZing Robot Army!

Coding & Engineer on the Farm: Escape with Robots Edison and Roz!
Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at CATALYST Arts & Maker Space in the Tucson Mall
8:00 am - 3:30 pm
K-12th Grade Educators

The wild robot, Roz, continues her adventures in Peter Brown's book The Wild Robot Escapes, as she tries to return to her island. Take your Edison use to the next level as you engage in challenges inspired by Roz's daring story. Learn new ways to cultivate STEM minds using Edison's various levels of coding and engineering options. Bring a laptop and ONE Edison robot with you to learn more about EdBlocks and EdScratch coding apps. There will also be a chance to explore coding with Python for those that want to jump to the highest level of coding with Edison. Finally, you can engineer with Edison using the EdCreate kit which allows you to build EdTank, EdDigger, EdRoboClaw, EdCrane, and EdPrinter. (https://meetedison.com/edcreate/) The STEMAZing Kit (valued at about $80) for this workshop includes a SECOND Edison Robot and an EdCreate kit!
