Join us on Tuesday May 3rd to learn more about Phidgets Education!
Phidgets are programmable sensors that make physical computing easy. With Phidgets, students can simply plug in a sensor, write code in their favorite language and go!
During this hands-on presentation, you will learn how to get up and running with Phidgets. All K-12 educators will receive a free introductory kit and a bonus light sensor from Phidgets Education. Using this hardware, you will be led through two projects:
- In the first project, you will learn about the components in your introductory kit. These include buttons, LEDs, and a temperature/humidity sensor.
- In the second project, you will use your light sensor to add automation to a popular browser-based game.
After you register and indicate you are a K-12 educator, you will receive an email with a promotional code to receive a free Phidget starter kit. Please order these kits ahead of the May meeting so you can code along during the meeting!
Notes:
- Please have a computer with USB ports for this presentation. You will not be able to participate in the second project if using a Chromebook. iPads are not supported.
- If you have claimed the free kit offer from Phidgets Education previously, you will only receive the light sensor.
- Phidgets are suitable for CS students in grades 7-12+.
