AzTEA Fall Conference: This event is intended to empower attendees to learn about a topic (tech tool and/or strategy for best practice in technology integration) and design a plan to apply their new learning in their own classroom/school the very next day! Sessions will be led by teachers, coaches, and administrators who are using these tools with their students or in their work.

Elementary Teacher Professional Development: Scratch and TPACK at the AZ Charter School Association - all teachers welcome: Oct 8 from 9-12.

Computer Science Webinars: The Arizona Department of Education is offering a series of webinars on ways to best incorporate Computer Science into K-8 classrooms. The webinars are led by Shawn Abele of Gilbert Public Schools.

Code.org CS Fundamentals & Deep Dive Workshops: The Arizona Science Center is offering several CS Fundamentals & Deep Dive workshops throughout the remainder of the year.

Native American Code Writers Program: The Native American Code Writers program targets Native American students and their teachers in order to teach Computer Science (CS) to 100 high school students yearly, across six reservations. The CS content is designed to help students think critically, problem-solve, and work with technology integration using app development, gaming, website design, multimedia, cybersecurity, and robotics.

iKidsCode Day of Learning: iKidsCode offers supplemental computer science and coding curriculum that is aligned to state standards and can easily be integrated with core content areas. Recently, we visited Canyon Springs STEM Academy in Deer Valley Unified School District to work with students and teachers for a "Day of Learning." Students created digital products that they integrated with their other ELA projects. Email Sara.sanchezlong@ikidscode.com if you would like iKidsCode to visit your school.

ASTA Fall Conference: The Arizona Science Teachers Association (ASTA) is holding their fall conference on November 7th & 8th at the Challenger Space Center in Arizona. Thursday’s program includes the opportunity for educators to attend two 3-hour sessions to deepen their knowledge and skills of selected science education topics. Friday’s program includes a keynote presentation, STEM playground, exhibitor hall, and 5 concurrent sessions focused on individual strands.
