Through the Arizona Computer Science Initiative & the Governor’s Partnership for K-12 Computer Science, Governor Ducey and Code.org have collaborated to advance computer science education statewide since 2017. In FY 2018, Governor Ducey proposed and received funding to advance the first phase of Arizona’s statewide computer science initiative through the development of computer science standards and professional development. The FY2019 budget included $2.5 million to expand the Governor’s Partnership for K-12 Computer Science pilot program and enable schools to offer high-quality, rigorous training for new computer science teachers.
